News from Apple:
According to new research conducted in March, 1997, by Quality Education Data (QED), a Denver-based research and data base company, U.S. K-12 school districts intending to buy computers in 1997-98 are planning to purchase Macintosh. QED's recently released 1997-98 Technology Purchasing Forecast report shows that 59% of the planned intended to be Macintosh, a 3 percent increase over last year. "The results of this survey indicate tremendous confidence in Apple and loyalty to the Macintosh platform," says Mike Lorion, vice president of education for Apple's North America division. "School districts clearly see the benefits that Apple products and solutions provide in improving the teaching and learning process. We believe it's because Apple is the only computer company to offer the full range of products, solutions and services that educators need to implement a long range technology plan, implement and cost effective manner possible."
