More of Paul's Notes for May 1997

Welcome! Hope your enjoing LCARS. I've tried to design this site so its easy to surf, but has information that you can use. I guess then it would be easy to understand why I used the Mac interface for the site. As for information, I've tried to include everything I'm intreseted in when it comes to my Mac, as a base to work from. I would, however like some help. So if you can't find something. Or have a comment about something, please let me know.

So why have I built LCARS? Well lots of reasons. I wanted to make a resource for people to find programs for the Macintosh, as well as let others discuss topics relating to their Macs. So here it is!

As well as mananging the site, I hope to put my two cents in with this little corner of the 'Net.

Book Recommendations
Gates by Stephen Manes & Paul Andrews
ISBN# 0671880748
-1993 Touchstone / Simon & Schuster

A few years ago I picked this book up and couldn't put it down till I finished. A great collection of information, stories and facts about Bill Gates. Its a interesting way to learn the details about all those stories you've hear about him and how he runs his business. It's a book I would recommend even if you hate Bill Gates and Mircosoft. After all keep your friend close, and your enemies closer.

Programs
I think I'll wait before I jump on the bandwagon of "Netscape 4.0 is GREAT". The beta copy I'm using has yet to become the standard program I launch when viewing the web. Go Fig? Peronally I have a big problem with programs that try to be everything-in-one. This is why I hate Microsoft, and I'm a little sadden that Netscape seems to be trying this, and what about Microsoft? Internet Explorer is always one step behind on the Macintosh Platform, and as great as Cyberdog maybe, it also is a step behind. What is one to do? Well, Netscape 3.0 will still be able to get you around. In fact, 2.0 should do. What? Don't upgrade? This seems to go against everything we've been told. Yeah, well Go Fig....Or better yet, since all these browsers will be one step behind, draw straws.

Games & Websites
I found this great site the other day....Miss the good old days of arcade games? When Mario wasn't the lead character...and Donky Kong was God. Well I've got news for you, now you can have all that and more. http://www.emulation.net/ has a collection of Emulation software that let you run Colecovision, Atari 2600, even Nintendo games, on your Mac. Looking for games for your emulator? Check out http://www.sponsor.net/~gchance/index.html for all those games you always wanted, but couldn't afford.
