Apple is also highlighting features of the new OS, like QuickDraw 3D. It consists of human interface guidelines and toolkit, a high-level modeling tool kit, a shading and rendering architecture, a cross-platform file format and a device and acceleration manager for plug and play hardware acceleration. Programs
My new Desktop thanks to MacOS 8:

Installing OS 8 was a pain. Apple has redone their Installer Program so your wondering what exactly is going on from the get go. Afterwords I had to reset my Internet settings and remove FreePPP, since the networking has been totally redone with Open Trasnport. As well I had to reset RamDoubler 2. I have to admit I knew about the RamDoubler problem ahead of time, MacZone, informed me when I ordered OS 8, but only as a selling point to buy a 16 MB SIMM. After restart RamDoubler seems to be running fine. Connecitx is working on a fix to a bug that will not allow floppy disks to mount on some PowerPC based systems running RAM Doubler 2.0.x.

So far setting up my desktop hasn't be to hard. The nicest feature so far is the folder-tabp/pop-up feature that allows you to place your most used folders on the bottom of the desktop, maked as folder-tabs. Be careful however, you only have a limited amount of space on the desktop you can used for this .
