Tues June 16th
Well, I'm right now - still in the USA. I'm on the 747 and just about to leave.
Today was a interesting day, first breakfast at GW [George Washington University -
Washington, D.C.]. Then two more speakers discussion our trip. Then we went to
lunch, at GW. Don and I went to the White House since he wanted to take to take
some photos. Lusia, one of our group leaders, mentoned that Bush and Yeltsin
were having a lunch on the White House Lawn [North Lawn?]. Well, we couldn't
see them for security had put up a cover so no one could pick anyone off. We
waled around the House and stoppped by the side entrance gate [West Gate?].
We had to move out of the way at one moment and off goes a limo and Don noticed that
Bush was inside. So we kept milling around and about 20 minutes later another
motorcade leaves and goes acrross the street to the house where the
visiting dignitaries stay. Out comes Boris Yeltsin and he starts chatting to
a camera crew and some of the people who and gathered around. I did get some
photos from about 10 feet away of everything. We then stay a few more minutes
and say the motorcade leave with Yeltsin inside waving to everyone on the street...
Not a bad day for nothing planned, and of course now here I am off to Moscow via
London. 12 hour trip total, not including a 3 hour layover in London.
Peace.
One note - I just saw - now in the air at 33,000 feet - the most beautiful and
fastest sunset I have ever seen.
