Details about their annoucement, including pricing can be found in <a href=\"http:\/\/pdw.weinstein.org\/2010\/01\/apples-ipad-tablet-includes-cool-new-apps-and-features.html\">Apple&#8217;s iPad Tablet Includes Cool New Apps and Features<\/a><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Apparently someone at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrevo.com\/\">Retrevo.com<\/a> had<br \/>\nthe same thought I did in regards to what would be the ideal price for<br \/>\nthe rumored <a property=\"ctag:label\" resource=\"http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/guid\/9202a8c04000641f800000000000451e\" typeof=\"ctag:Tag\" xmlns:ctag=\"http:\/\/commontag.org\/ns#\" class=\"zem_slink rdfa\" href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/\" title=\"Apple\" rel=\"ctag:means homepage\">Apple<\/a> &#8220;iTablet&#8221;. But unlike my personal speculation<br \/>\nabout what that price could be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.retrevo.com\/content\/blog\/apple-tablets-pc-users\">they went ahead and conducted a<br \/>\nsurvey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/pdw.weinstein.org\/2009\/09\/the-itablet-only-from-att.html\">The iTablet, Only from AT&amp;T<\/a> post<br \/>\nI openly wondered if the rumored device might be offered by AT&amp;T<br \/>\nat a subsidy since &#8220;rumors put this tablet device at<br \/>\nanywhere between $600 &#8211; $1000&#8221; which begged the question in my mind<br \/>\n&#8220;would you pay $1000 for a device that could get lost or dropped<br \/>\neasily? If your going to spend that much would you just purchase a<br \/>\nMacbook? Even at the $600 price-range would you buy Apple&#8217;s tablet, a<br \/>\ncheap laptop or a <a property=\"ctag:label\" resource=\"http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/guid\/9202a8c04000641f800000000801c97d\" typeof=\"ctag:Tag\" xmlns:ctag=\"http:\/\/commontag.org\/ns#\" class=\"zem_slink rdfa\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Netbook\" title=\"Netbook\" rel=\"ctag:means wikipedia\">netbook<\/a>?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to Retrevo.com&#8217;s survey 64%<br \/>\nof &#8220;PC users&#8221; &#8211; who <a property=\"ctag:label\" resource=\"http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/guid\/9202a8c04000641f8000000008106f28\" typeof=\"ctag:Tag\" xmlns:ctag=\"http:\/\/commontag.org\/ns#\" class=\"zem_slink rdfa\" href=\"http:\/\/www.appleinsider.com\/\" title=\"AppleInsider\" rel=\"ctag:means homepage\">AppleInsider<\/a> suggests are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.appleinsider.com\/articles\/09\/10\/26\/study_suggests_600_mass_market_sweet_spot_for_apple_tablet.html\">accustomed to<br \/>\nlow-cost machin<\/a>es &#8211; would purchase the device if it was priced<br \/>\nunder $600. How much under is a question left open by the survey, but<br \/>\nI doubt $599 would get the same 64% response as say $399 or even<br \/>\n$299.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pdw.weinstein.org\/files\/gadgetology_102709_chartgroup2.jpg\" rel=\"milkbox:gall1\" title=\"How Much Would You Pay for the Rumored Apple Tablet?\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/pdw.weinstein.org\/files\/gadgetology_102709_chartgroup2.jpg\" title=\"How Much Would You Pay for the Rumored Apple Tablet?\" height=\"80%\" width=\"80%\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i>&#8220;How Much Would You Pay for the Rumored Apple Tablet?&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">You may ask why are &#8220;cheap PC<br \/>\nUsers&#8221; of important interested when, as surveyed, 41% of &#8220;Mac<br \/>\nUsers&#8221; would be happy to spend &#8220;$800 or more&#8221; for Apple&#8217;s yet<br \/>\nto be announced device?<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pdw.weinstein.org\/files\/gadgetology_102709_chartgroup1.jpg\" rel=\"milkbox:gall1\" title=\"Mac\/iPhone Comparison, Units Shipped\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/pdw.weinstein.org\/files\/gadgetology_102709_chartgroup1.jpg\" title=\"Mac\/iPhone Comparison, Units Shipped\" height=\"80%\" width=\"80%\"><\/a><br \/>\n<i>Mac\/iPhone Comparison, Units Shipped<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Simply put, while Mac sales have been<br \/>\nincreasing steadily over the past couple of years &#8211; despite the<br \/>\nrecession &#8211; Apple&#8217;s <a property=\"ctag:label\" resource=\"http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/guid\/9202a8c04000641f80000000047953d8\" typeof=\"ctag:Tag\" xmlns:ctag=\"http:\/\/commontag.org\/ns#\" class=\"zem_slink rdfa\" href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/iphone\" title=\"iPhone\" rel=\"ctag:means homepage\">iPhone<\/a>, much like its iPod predecessor, has<br \/>\nseen explosive growth beyond Apple&#8217;s traditional Mac User market &#8211; in part because of accessible pricing.<\/p>\n<p>Features are one thing. Price is quite<br \/>\nanother.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of features, supposedly the<br \/>\niTablet will do for news organizations what the iPod has done for<br \/>\nrecording studios.
