Active Region 3664 - Nikon D3400 Vivitar 500mm f/8 Lens Keiko 2x Telepus Pro 300 DGX Astromania Deluxe Solar Filter 100 ISO 1/320 shutter A photo taken on May 11th, 2004 of one of the largest sunspot groups in recent history crossing the Sun. Active Region 3664 (right-side of image) is throwing off particles into the Solar System. When impacting Earth's upper atmosphere, these particles produce beautiful auroras, auroras that have been seen unusually far south.
